Levisham Station Walk
We did the Levisham Station walk yesterday afternoon-glorious sunshire and the Moors to ourselves as everyone else was watching a football match. Took us about three hours and not strenuous-good for ramblers and stollers. Views from Skelton Tower were amazing although not great shots of the steam train as there was a diesel helping out. Remember Thomas the Tank engine song "Coughs and sneezers spreads dieseasels"? Sorry the mental ramblings of an ageing hack.Point is the walking around here is fantastic-also the biking as we passed many hardy individuals struggling up from Levisham Station to Stape through the forest.

Esk Valley
We finally went and found Battersby Junction yesterday-amazing drive over the moors and through the valley. We are now planning a train journey from Whitby to Middlesborough to get the full experience.
Simply Red-simply brilliant
Oh yes they were-a great evening in Yorkshires Great Forest. Dalby is a wonderful venue and it didnt rain-but its not just for concerts. Go Ape is an experience and it is fast becoming a mecca for Mountain Bikers. Have a look at the Forestry Commission website for all that is going on

Gannets and Puffins
Just spent the afternoon at the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs watching gannets and puffins-very high wind buffeting the cliffs and they do amazing acrobatics to land. Very dramatic and a fantastic visit.
